1. Registration:

  • Visit the e-DRT portal: https://drt.gov.in/
  • Click on “External User” and then “Registration e-filing.”
  • Enter your mobile number, generate and verify OTP.
  • Complete the registration form, providing accurate details, including your email address, landline number, and Bar Council registration number (if applicable).

2. Login:

  • Use your registered mobile number and password to log in.

3. Select Application Type:

  • Choose the type of application you want to file, such as:
    • Original Application (OA)
    • Securitisation Application (SA)
    • Miscellaneous Application (MA)
    • Interlocutory Application (IA)
    • Caveat
    • Appeal

4. Fill in Application Details:

  • Enter the required information about the petitioner, respondent, and case details meticulously.

5. Upload Documents:

  • Carefully scan and upload the necessary documents in PDF format, ensuring they meet the prescribed specifications:
    • Application in Times New Roman font, size 13, double-spaced, on A3 paper with margins (5 cm left, 2.5 cm right)
    • Supporting documents (e.g., affidavits, agreements)
    • Vakalatnama (if applicable)

6. Pay Fees:

  • Pay the required fees online through the e-DRT system, using a valid payment gateway.

7. Submit Application:

  • After successful payment, review all information and documents thoroughly.
  • Click on “Submit” to complete the e-filing process.

8. Acknowledgement:

  • You’ll receive an online acknowledgement and a unique application reference number.
  • Print and preserve this acknowledgement for future reference.

Important Points:

  • Mandatory for debts above ₹100 crore: E-filing is now mandatory for cases involving debts of ₹100 crore or more.
  • Documents in PDF format: Ensure all documents are in PDF format and meet the prescribed specifications.
