What are the grounds for divorce in Indore?

Adultery

Adultery is defined as voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and someone other than their spouse. If one spouse can prove that the other spouse has committed adultery, they can file for divorce on this ground.

Cruelty

However, the court will only grant a divorce on this ground if the spouse suffering from the disease was aware of it at the time of the marriage and did not disclose it to the other spouse.

Renunciation of the world

If one spouse renounces the world by entering any religious order, the other spouse can file for divorce on this ground.

Presumption of death

If one spouse has not been heard of as being alive for a period of seven years or more, the other spouse can file for divorce on the ground of presumption of death.

Mutual consent

If both spouses agree to get a divorce, they can file for a divorce by mutual consent. The court will grant a divorce by mutual consent if the spouses have been living separately for a period of one year or more, or have not been able to live together due to a continuous state of discord or mental incompatibility.
